| Put something sound deadening on the left and right side walls at ear height when seated in your favorite listening seat. One good way to determine where this sound absorbent material should go is to use a mirror. When seated have someone else hold the mirror to the wall and move it about until you can see your speaker in the mirror. This is your spot. Ditto for the other speaker.
The floor is another contender for early reflections and a good rug will do just fine. Then you have the ceiling, not so easy to treat but worth the effort if you find a way. The front wall you can treat just like you have for the side walls. |
| |
| If you are of the school that appreciates focus, palpable imaging and life like sound staging, early reflections can blur things up. You need to eliminate or significantly reduce first reflections for best results. |
| |
| As promised, there is an increase in sound stage definition and focus. Images are now easier to identify. There is also an increase in definition and resolution. |
| |
| The individual treatment should be sufficient but not over the top. Over damping the room will make the sound to dry. |
