| Most people of my age, near fifty, have some hearing damage. My right ear has a 10 decibel dip in the 6000 hz range. This makes my speakers always sound like the left channel is louder than the right.
When I went to my doctor and had a hearing test, I had them give me the read out so I could accurately adjust the equalization in my system.
It was a fairly simple task to use an equalizer to boost the mid frequencies in the right channel to match my hearing loss.
For all the new equipment and different speakers, amps, this simple "ADJUSTMENT" has done more to open up the sound of my hi fi system.
Many people will consider this a measure for people with damaged hearing, yet my hearing rates in the "acceptable" curve of the audiologists.
If you can, have your ears tested and use the graph print out to adjust your system to your hearing, You WILL be surprised.' |
