Vibrapod + ball bearing |
| |
| Something like the idea of a marble or ball bearing in a spoon. |
| |
| I simply put a steel ball bearing about 1/2 inch diameter in three Vibrapods and put these under my turntable. |
| |
| You may want to make three small indentations in the bottom ot the tt, one at each ball bearing location, so that the tt doesn't roll off.
I haven't tried this twek under other components; it may be worth a try. |
| |
| I thought it improved the tightness of the mid bass -- especially on piano music. |
| |
| I'm not sure the Vibrapod does anythin more than keep the ball bearing from rolling around. Then again, there may be something to the combination of rolling and absorption that contributes to the effectiveness of this tweak. |

I
tried sort of the same thing on the front end of my CD
changer (formerly held up by a 12" bike tube),
except I put an ebony ball in the Vibrapod. I thought
that it definitely firmed up the sound ;-), as well as
slightly expanding the soundstage. |
