| Make sure that your front-loading CD player or changer has everything cleared off the top. Find a large, heavy book, such as a coffee table book. |

| Place the book neatly on top of the CD player. Because the book is composed of hundreds of individual sheets of paper, it tends to adsorb and damp vibration from the player and clamp it into place on its shelf. |

| Imaging and detail are slightly improved. In some systems the improvement may be substantial. Skipping is a little less of a problem as well. |
